R&D Centers Working On Parallel Mechanisms

With respect to their research volume and diversity, R&D centers occupy the middle ground between university laboratories and companies. Most of them are governmental and strongly dependent on research funds. Hence, their research is narrowly focused, exhaustive, meticulous, and ... sometimes classified. Therefore, R&D centers are hardly the best source of new ideas but rather an indicator of the state of the art.

The list of R&D Centers is organized by country. Each entry is headed by the name of the R&D Center with a link to its web site (if such exists), followed by its location, and by the associated staff. Then, for some R&D Centers, an "Overview" is made available and can be accessed by clicking on . Since in some cases, only a part of the research in the center is focused on parallel mechanisms, an additional link is provided in the field "Related Links" that leads directly to the web page presenting the research of interest.

Based on the present list and on our own opinion, we point out the following interesting facts:
